Pregnancy may cause RA to go into a hiding Phase. As the pregnancy is an immune compromised state, the immune system is not as active thus decreases pain and inflammation.

In pregnancy immunity of the body is allied which possibly contributes to change in progression of RA. Though no single theory explains the improvement seen in patients with R.A. Following mechanism may be proposed.
