Precautions While Wearing A Mask

As we see the number of COVID-19 cases multiplying world-wide, the recommendations to wear mask is a safety, however long hours of wearing mask is effecting our skin.

Wearing a mask is an alien to skin. However it protects us from Infection and all foreign bodies like bacteria, virus or dust.

Make a habit of wearing a mask in public as it is mandatory and curtails the spread of corona virus.

Difficulty in breathing.- It makes breathing more difficult especially for people with COPD and Bronchitis. Slight discomfort- There is discomfort when one wears a mask as exhaled air is upwards towards eyes and u feel uncomfortable and itchy. Skin rashes or allergies. Redness, itching, sweat and marks on skin are common things we experience depending on whatever materials used. Cost burden-Masks have now become an added cost. We should know which mask to reuse and dispose the disposable ones.

Decrease immune System: – Low oxygen levels can suppress our immune systems.  Low immune system is likely to get infections more frequently than most other people and these illnesses might be more severe and difficult to treat.

Advise: – Remove your mask once at home or when u are not in crowded places. Before wearing a mask Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds. Do not touch your face, nose and eyes once u have worn the mask. Use a sunscreen or a moisturizer before wearing a mask to avoid contact allergy or redness. When removing a mask release ear loops or ties without touching your face. Wash your hands again with soap and water for 20 seconds after removing the mask.
