Stress and it’s Symptoms

Effects of stress

The human body is made for experiencing stress & reacting towards it. Stress could be positive for keeping us alert & ready for avoiding danger. However, it gets negative for individuals experiencing regular challenges with no relief from the challenges. Consequently, people get overworked & tension builds.

Nobody thought of bringing a headache pill to the party?

Stress which continues with no relief could result in distress which is a negative stress reaction. Distress could cause physical problems like a headache, increased blood pressure, upset stomach, chest pain & sleeping troubles.

Stress aggravates when individuals turn to alcohol, drugs and tobacco for relieving their stress. Unfortunately, rather than relieving the stress, these substances keep our body distressed & lead to further problems. The following must be considered:

  • Education, public administration, health & social care and defense are the occupations with the highest rate of stress
  • Stress plays its part in problems like a headache, heart problems, high blood pressure, skin conditions, diabetes, arthritis and asthma
