Gurgaon, Feb 2, 2018: Budding spine surgeons across India gathered at the Crown Plaza Hotel to attend the opening edition of SPINECON 2018. Organized by Paras Hospitals Gurgaon, the three-day event held the first ever annual master course in spine surgery, as 50 renowned specialists came together to provide training and share the latest knowledge related to the treatment of spinal ailments to around 70 delegates attending the conference.
The event was graced by Dr. Dharminder Nagar, MD, Paras Health, and Padmashree Dr. (Prof) VS Mehta, Chairman Neurosciences, Paras Hospitals Gurgaon, who along with the Organizing Chairman, Dr. Sumit Sinha, Director Neurosurgery & Spine, Paras Hospitals Gurgaon, inaugurated the conference.

The conference included 7 sessions including Cadaver hands-on workshop covering various topics from spinal injury, trauma, tumors, to deformity and degenerative diseases. The correct and appropriate use of latest technologies and surgical procedures was discussed, with a special focus on minimally invasive surgery, which requires small incisions, less pain, low risk of infection and complications, shorter hospital stay, quicker recovery and less scarring, and reduced blood loss.
“Our focus remains on increasing collaboration and exchange of ideas between various faculty members of the field as well as to further expert knowledge, training, and guidance to upcoming faculty. Apart from providing a master course in spine surgery, didactic lectures from experts, several case-based discussions, and interactive panel sessions were conducted. Also, a special Cadaver Hands-on workshop was conducted focusing on various aspects of spine surgery to provide necessary surgical training to the upcoming surgeons.
