Doctors at Paras Global Hospital Darbhanga yet again created medical history in the Mithila region by successfully treating a woman of acute jaundice and stone in her bile duct. The doctors used the latest technology of Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and relieved the 44 yr old woman of pain and discomfort.

According to the reports, 44 yr old, Ms Meenu was suffering from severe pain in the abdomen area and was suffering from high grade fever. Her skin was also yellow and she complained of fatigue and loss of appetite. She consulted numerous doctors and also opted for alternative medicine for her treatment, however nothing could help her condition. Post recommendations from relatives, she decided to consult the gastroenterologist at Paras Hospital Darbhanga – the leading private hospital of Mithila region specialising in all gastro related ailments such as jaundice, cirrhosis, pancreatitis and stomach issues.

He further adds, “In ERCP technique no surgery is required but a bendable, lighted tube (endoscope) about the thickness of your index finger is placed through your mouth. The procedure took only half an hour and after the operation Meenu’s serum bilirubin came to normal at 5. She was feeling alright so she was discharged from the hospital the next day itself.”

Meenu’s husband highlighted that they were struggling from the disease since long time and no remedy was being found for the same. However, it was Paras Global Hospital Darbhanga where her wife was treated successfully by Dr Kumar and now she is healthy.
