Gurgaon, 14th September 2018: Top neurosurgeons gathered at Paras Hospitals for the first edition of Masterclass in Neurosurgery, a three-day event from September 14th to 16th which saw hundreds of young surgeons participating for further honing their skills in minimally invasive and keyhole neurosurgery.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Dharminder Nagar MD, Paras Health, Dr. Shankar Narang, COO, Paras Health and Dr. Jitender Kumar, Medical Director, Dr.(Prof.) V.S. Mehta, Chairman Neurosciences and Dr. (Prof.) Sumit Sinha, Director, Neurosurgery and Spine. Also present were internationally and national renowned neurosurgeons, Prof. Charlie Teo and Dr. Basant Mishra.

On very first day, live surgery andpreoperative case discussions with keyhole concept performed for the delegates by eminent International faculty Prof. Teo and Basant Mishra. A basic overview ofsurgical approaches delivered to lateral ventriclefew tips and pearls given on surgical management of CP angle tumorsby Dr. (Prof.) Sumit Sinha, Director, Neurosurgery and Spine, Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon.
And, the second day started with many important sessions taken by various chairpersons,Diagnostic Preoperative workup for functioning pituitary adenoma. Diagnosis and Management of Prolactinoma- recent evidencebased Diagnosis and Management of Cushing’s Disease Endonasal or transcranial surgery. Chemoradiation for glioma, WHO Classification of Astrocytictumors, Decision making and Microsurgical management in AVM and Surgical strategies for complex and Giant aneurysms.
Chairpersonalso took sessions on surgical approach- rationale, indications and technique for PetroclivalMeningiomas. And , these sessions lead to many other topics like; Surgical Nuances in Trigeminal schwanomas, Surgical management of Acoustic schwanommas and Foramen magnum meningiomas- Far Lateral approach- indications, variations and technique.
On the last day, a 3D Video workshop delivered. The workshop moved forward with sessions on Epilepsy and Functional neurosurgery, Endoscopic/ Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery, Miscellaneous and Endovascular Neurosurgery.
