Patna, July 28,2017 : On the eve of World Hepatitis Day , Dr. Rajiv Ranjan, Hepatologist, Paras HMRI Hospital said on Friday, July 28, that Hepatitis has a complete recovery in early stages but in case of late detection, this disease can also be deadly. There are several other problems along with swelling in the liver in this disease. Hepatitis also results from alcohol drinking, TB medicine, epilepsy drug, AIDS medication. There are four types of Hepatitis, called hepatitis A, B, C and E. A & E which are due to infection associated with the water and food. Liver stops working sometimes in this disease, which makes the patient’s life more complicated. B and C are quite dangerous compared to A and E.
Dr. Singh said that number patient of Hepatitis B is quite large in Bihar. 5 out of every 100 people are suffering from this disease. More than 60 lakhs patients of hepatitis B are in Bihar. Chronic Hepatitis, Liver cirrhosis, liver cancer can also occur from B and C. In this situation, liver transplantation is required. Referring to the symptoms of Hepatitis, he said that this illness generally does not present any symptoms and often this disease is caught during the inspection of another disease. Hepatitis comes in a while when it is completely spreading in the body. As a symptom, jaundice, water coming in the stomach, unconsciousness, blood vomiting, eating disorder incidence of weight etc. are included. If someone is infected with Hepatitis B in the house then there is no transition from someone else’s blood, Dr. Singh said caution is needed to prevent transmission. Things which are likely to bleed e.g are- Razors, nail cutters, toothbrush of patients should be separated and someone else should not use these things.
